2012 Matriculation Results
Congratulations on a 100% pass to the 2012 Matriculants. Overall 45 distinctions were achieved over the subjects offered. 77% achieved University Entrance and 23% achieved entrance to Diploma Courses or passed without access to University.

Pupils and parents filled the school Chapel on Friday the 16th of November to honour both the Summer and Winter sports codes at St Martin’s School. It was pleasing to see the large number of recipients and witness the dedication the pupils have to sport. It is always amazing to see how many sportsmen and sportswomen are also top academic achievers. St Martin’s is a school that allows all pupils the opportunity to achieve and become fully rounded.

The High School held its annual Speech Day on the 10th of November, in the gardens, under the beautiful oak trees. The Heads of School, Robin Attewell and Yuvanya Naidoo addressed the school, reminiscing about the past five years and highlighting the value of the education they gained at St Martin’s School. The guest speaker Jackie Wiese, Sport Director of Stellenbosch University, spoke on the parallels which exist between a commitment to sport and to our personal lives, including our studies.

St Martin’s School First X1 cricket visited India from 8 April to 23 April 2012 and played six matches on tour in a country where cricket is much like a religion. The team jetted in to Delhi where they played their first match on the sub-continent against Lal Bahadur Shastri Cricket Club, which is also the home ground of Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir.

With great anticipation, 21 boys, two coaches and two drivers set out for Zimbabwe on 28 April, 13 years after we last visited the Prince Edward Rugby festival. Miscalculating the distance and petrol problems saw us crossing into Zimbabwe at 22h00.
